Cool cats with a hint of boogaloo
The legendary BlueNote record label is synonymous with the cool jazz of the 1950s and 60s. Sound of Blue Note celebrates the sounds of that era but combines it with some spunky boogaloo of their own. From syncopated swing to dazzling solos, they deliver an exciting dynamic performance and a fun-packed afternoon.
The band features some of the region’s most prominent jazzers. It includes Andy Urquhart (trumpet), Terry Quinney (saxophone), Ben Taylor (bass), Andy Chapman (drums), Phil Doyle (piano).
This is a special event deserved a special location. So, we’re returning to a hidden gem. Mariners Hotel has a wonderful private garden overlooking Lyme Bay and a well-deserved reputation for its food. Your ticket includes BBQ food.
“A treasure trove of originals. Slick ensemble passages alternate with inspired solos” – Alan Barnes
