Liane Carroll Trio

Liane Carroll doesn’t just sing jazz, she is jazz. From swinging jazz to lowdown blues, she delivers with soul and passion – rocking the joint one minute, breaking hearts the next.

She’s a multi award-winning singer and a pillar of the British jazz and soul scene. Her career spans several decades, working with artists including Paul McCartney, Gerry Rafferty, Long John Baldry, Ian Shaw, and Claire Martin OBE.

More recently she’s worked with drum and bass outfit London Elektricity with whom she appeared at Glastonbury in 2017.

In a genre dominated by US artists such as Aretha Franklin, or Diana Krall, Liane provides a distinctively British feel to world-class blues and ballads singing. Her voice is earthy and authentic, always sounding as if she means it, whether singing midnight blues ballads or swinging jazz.

Crtically acclaimed as a recording artist, her four most recent albums (Slow Down, Up and Down, Ballads, Seaside) all earned four star reviews in The Guardian. Her latest release Seaside (Linn Records), an homage to her life in Hastings is her third with Grammy nominated producer James McMillan. It won a coveted British Jazz Award for Best New CD (2015).

In 2016 she picked up two more prestigious awards to add to her growing collection – Vocalist Of  The Year by Jazz FM and Best British Jazz Vocalist by the British Jazz Awards.  You need to experience her live to truly understand what all the fuss is about.

Liane Carroll (piano and vocals), Roger Carey (bass)  and Russell Field (drums).
