Adam Sweet’s gathered together a roster of local “stars” to rock your Bank Holiday Monday. His awesome house band includes – Ian Jennings (bass), a stalwart of the British blues scene (Robert Plant, Jeff Beck and Eric Clapton); Gary Kroll (drums), currently one of the country’s most in demand session players. Paddy Blight, another highly sought after session player specialising in mean funky grooves, Sebastian Boleslawski (drums)Plymouth-based and R&B maestro and Nathan Austin (guitar), who regularly duos with Joanna Cooke. And, of course, Adam Sweet!
12pm – Adam Sweet Band
Adam Sweet kicks off with his own brand of bluesy southern rock. With his expressive vocal style, blistering guitar solos and growing song writing credits, Adam fronts his power trio with an energy set to shake up the UK’s blues rock scene. More
1pm – Vince Lee
An authentic, virtuoso blues musician whose energetic, driven live performances have huge impact whenever he plays. He’s one of the most talented blues guitarists around and rocked our seafront stage when he appeared in 2016. Welcome back Vince! More
2pm – Joanna Cooke
Singer-songwriter, Joanna Cooke, takes piano based melodies, a sharp ear for a hook and blends it with soul influences from Bessie Smith, Ella Fitzgerald and Aretha Franklin. A powerful live performer, we know Joanna’s going to rock that seafront stage! More
3pm – Ian Briggs
Playing a mix of American west-coast blues, R&B and rockabilly, Ian Briggs is one of the UK’s best blues harmonica players. He uses his distinctive style of playing to drive his dynamic live performances. He’s played with many blues greats in his career (Savoy Brown, Michael Roach, Yardbirds and Eric Clapton). It’s his debut at Jazz Jurassica – we expect it won’t be his last!
4pm – Grace Gillan & Jake Miller
Grace Gillan is a hugely talented and versatile vocalist with influences including jazz, soul, funk , latin and blues. Her unique singing style and range has meant many collaborations with local bands in the area. With Jake Miller she’s found an equally talented musical partner and guitarist with roots in rock, dub and ska. More
